GREEN STREET SHUT DOWN FOR TAXES & MORE RESTAURANT NEWS

La Grenouille? Non

La Grenouille? Non, mais tres a propos

ACCORDING to a large yellow sticker on the front door of The Green Street the property has been seized for non-payment of taxes.  The all-natural Korean Bbq restaurant located on 47th Road between Vernon and 11th Street has only been open for about a year and a half.

In other restaurant news, The Sandwich King is looking to open in the next ten days or so.  Also work on La Adelita, a Mexican restaurant going into the former RePubLIC space on 50th Avenue just east of Vernon, seems to be rolling along as its exterior just received a paint job in the colors of the Mexican flag.

//IN the “it must be May” category, the NY Mets have squandered a 12-2 first place start in April to being one game away from .500 and in fourth place. Nevertheless the team’s impact on Queens is considerably greater than its W/L record as the  basic rule for 7-train weekend shutdowns this summer is if they are in town on a given weekend its open, and if they’re not it’s closed.  Fwiw – the Mets are not in town this weekend.

You need to credit French bistro Tournesol for the beautiful photo above. Definitely one of LIC’s best restaurant.

Green Street is NOT CLOSED. The tax issue was sorted out the same day. Just talked to the owner about it, and drove by and it’s clearly open.

They’re not closed, we actually dined in yesterday night. Pretty good stuff!

Went to Green Street the same day this was written. It was wide open, serving two people with no yellow sign to be seen
