Lotsa LIC news coming your way
That’s all we got today
It pretty much confirms what I have been saying the last year
So let’s do some stream of consciousness do ya hear?
Court Square Boom Now In Session – yeah we know already, but Sage General Store now open for dinner, and might have liquor soon
New LIC Condo The Bindery Launches Sales – totals 20 units, but none 3-bdrms
Powerhouse: 22 Sponsor-held Occupied Apartments Bulk Sale – some plutocrat will probably buy them all and combine them “For 16 milion it’s a bargain!”
NJ Condo Market Heats Up As Demand Surges – alot of parallels between LIC and the Jersey Coast, even though I hate to admit it
New Farmer’s Markets Looking to Fill Hunters Point’s Hunger For Produce – notice the plural “Market’s”; 2 Farmer’s and a FleaMarket, too much?
LIC Hotspot Alobar Vies For Outdoor Seating – looking to open up backyard
$10,000 Grant to Shady Park – trees or awnings, that is the question
FreshDirect Facing Fight From Bronx Residents – might not be leaving LIC so quickly
Aereo Has TV Networks Circling Wagons – heavy hitters in the media world not so happy about LIC upstart
7-Train Extension to NJ Still Weighed by City – should we, shouldn’t we, a lot of wrangling over a two-river crossing

April 12, 2013 at 11:22 amWouldn’t it be better if one of the two Farmers Markets were moved to midweek? And with later hours?

April 12, 2013 at 1:21 pmI think if the two markets complement each other than it will be great. The last market that was here had very little selection and I think that was one of the big reasons why it failed.

April 12, 2013 at 9:26 pmThe main reason it failed because the time was on Wed 10-5 when most residents were out to work in manhattan!
Ro says
April 15, 2013 at 9:41 amThe weekday schedule was a last-ditch effort to save the market because vendors did not want to come on weekends.

April 12, 2013 at 1:28 pmthey’d make the most money if they did it directly in gantry park. i can’t really see how they would stay alive without a lot of foot traffic.
