Urban Market will open tomorrow. Located in Gantry Park Landing on 50th Avenue by the water, the 8,000 square foot store will feature, well, …all those items that supermarkets in upscale neighborhoods do in 2014. You can read the the story below for the details, of greater interest was our discovery of it by taking a deep dive into Supermarket News.
Why? Because that’s what LICtalk does for you: consolidates everything that’s happening in Long Island City, then adds a local rub and tells you what it means. Like this for example: the LICpost reported that Station LIC will open this Monday, and WeHeartLIC reported that Bareburger will open “this winter.” Ehh, the timing of it all is probably no more impactful than the supermarket headline above. More interesting is that you will have a plethora1 of burger-centered pubs on Vernon shortly: Cafe Henri (oui), Bareburger, Dominie’s Hoek, Petey’s, Corner Bistro, Woodbine’s, PJ Leahy’s, Open Door.
No shortage of burger choices soon in Hunters Point, kinda like rental apartments in the next few years in Court Square. Either way, not a bad thing for us locals.
