DO you know what percent of applicants get into Stanvard? The answer, 3.2%, is significantly higher than the percent of kids in LIC that secure a place in the Gantry Park Easter Egg Hunt each year. Maybe that’s not a bad thing, as the rejection builds up resilience beginning with the 2-3 year old category as they see a select genus group of their peers gain entry and partake in the excitement, pageantry and riches of the hunt.

Dear Cherry Blossoms, Spring Has Sprung 2023!
JUST like we did last year and every year prior, today we declare that Spring has sprung for Long Island City. Plus we added some cherry blossoms, which are in full bloom both here and on Cherry Blossom Island midway across the river (Roosevelt Island). Due to massive overcrowding the latter has discontinued it’s Cherry Blossom Festival, but this weekend would be a good one timing-wise to check out the flora there.

MOTHER Nature LICtalk has declared that Spring Has Sprung in 2022 here in Long Island City. We are also happy to declare that the Gantry Plaza Easter Egg Hunt is back on for 2022. EGGS AND FLEAS AND RENTALS AND FLEES
From the day we arrive on the planet
And, blinking, step into the sun
There’s more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There’s far too much to take in here

But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round

Anyway, for those not leaving town, the LIC Flea begins this Saturday. You know the deal, what began several years ago as a market of goods, is now predominantly gourmet food stalls and craft beer. Nothing wrong with that! Moreover as the beer swilling continues it helps to grease the wheels of an egg hunt of sorts for adults. Capisce?
//I don’t know what’s more highly anticipated, the Annual Trinity Grace Church Queens Easter Egg Hunt in Gantry Park, or the registration for it? Either way, [Read more…] about EGGS AND FLEAS AND RENTALS AND FLEES
