FORGET about Biden, Kamala, JD, Iran/Israel, and even the Olympics. The biggest news this summer in Long Island City is that Mercato is coming to 47-46 Vernon Boulevard. Formerly the home of Casa Lola and Bella Via, this prominent corner location has been empty since New Year. No more.
What is Mercato? Based on a similarity in url’s, we believe the owner has a like-named restaurant on the far west side which is described as an “Italian Trattoria in the heart of Hells Kitchen since 2010” on its website. That owner is Fabio Camardi, who was born in southern Italy, and his partner and chef since day one is Emanuel Concas, who also hails from and went to culinary school in Italy. Together they now oversee four restaurants in Manhattan.
You can read all about them on the website, where you will also find their complete menu, which is broken down into Salads, Antipasti, Pasta, and Carne/Pesce. And while there is no mention of pizza in the Manhattan location, no matter who the owner is we have it on good authority that this location will have pizza. You know what else we know? They are hoping to open in September. Abbondanza!
Mercato NYC – coming to LIC?
