This Saturday, the dichotomy of Long Island City will be on display in two Halloween parties. The first, ‘Halloween on The Waterfront’ sponsored by Hunters Point Parks Conservancy in conjunction with PS78Q and PS384Q will be a family-friendly affair. ‘Trick or Treating’ and ‘Kids Activities’ such as pumpkin painting and costume contests, culminating with a showing of Beetlejuice.
The second party, ‘Halloween Ball: Coven of Queens,’ will take place at MoMA PS1, and is decidedly not ‘family-friendly.’ It might be ‘family-forming friendly’ and produce future pupils of PS’s everywhere, either immediately (9 months hence), or in the next few years, but you may want to leave the kids at home. See the invite below and judge for yourself.
