Last night at a local meeting of the Hunters Point Civic Association, Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer announced that some of the HPS applicants had gotten word that they had won the lottery.
While the start of the notifications occurred about a month later than expected, the timing couldn’t be more interesting. Why? [Read more…] about HUNTERS POINT SOUTH LOTTERY WINNERS START GETTING THE CALL

It’s time to forget about subways and affordable housing, the weekend is here. With that in mind comes word from the LIC Partnership that there’s a new restaurant on Jackson Avenue called Mr. Nilsson. Ok, it’s not really a completely new restaurant. Public service is expected to begin in 2017.
The long delayed project was originally supposed to be completed …well I no longer remember when. The most recent hiccup occurred about a year ago after the original design was put out to bid and came in $10 million over budget. Nevertheless when it is completed, Long Island City will be a) spectacular, and b) one step away from being complete. What’s left after the library? [Read more…] about THE LIBERRY IS REDDY TO BEEGIN
