Not much local news to speak about, unless you like food. Oh you do? And drink too, in copious amounts? Well then, here’s a few things that may be of interest. First of all, a great local eating event takes place every few weeks over at the LIC Grange rooftop farm on Northern Boulevard. ((ok, it’s really called the Brooklyn Grange, but it’s in LIC)) It’s called the Butcher Paper Dinners, and each one features a different chef and menu. Think Foodies Gone Wild in a cool setting. There’s a special benefit farm-to-table one on behalf of City Growers next Saturday, July 19 from 6-9pm. Next up is an LIC food tour, which will make stops at six local venues. Finally, the LIC Partnership is holding a networking night on July 23 from 5pm-7pm at LIC Landing featuring open bar and hors d’oeuvres. Open bar, lotsa food, as a grizzled old journalist I welcome the challenge of eating and drinking my way back to even. In this case times three.
