Seem like the whole world walking pretty
And you can’t find the room to move
Freeze-out? Well maybe more like slush-city today. But frozen out of new condos, that’s for sure. According to a press release from Modern Spaces, The Vista, a 48-unit condominium in Court Square, is 100% sold out. Here’s what I find most interesting though:
“Buyers showed early interest in the building; 11 homes were sold in only the first 25 minutes of its soft opening.”
That’s what a lack of supply will do when you can’t find the room to move. Or maybe it’s the fact that by summer’s end LIC should have two new Japanese restaurants, as the owners of Mu Ramen are hoping to be in their new permanent home in five months. Riding the coattails of the sellout story is the fact that another $3,000,000 apartment just went up for sale in LIC. Get’em while they’re hot …or cold, depending on whether you think these two condo bits are a sign of froth, or just the beginning…

February 19, 2014 at 9:45 amThanks for update on Vista. It’d be interesting to know if buyers were investors (private or hedge funds) or families who want to live in the area.
With a cost difference almost half of manhattan prices (i’m talking new construction), the LIC upside makes lots of sense.
