A real mixed lot of LIC news this week, the only consistent theme being alot of changes occurring on all fronts. Let’s just take the headline news of another huge building being sold to institutional investors. Sure, it’s way up on Northern Boulevard, but it’s also 450,000 square feet and being sold to a pair of large property acquirers. Here are a few quotes from the press release that I think gives a pretty good picture of the business zeitgeist in LIC today:
“The firm continues to seek strategic areas for growth, and Long Island City is a dynamic, highly sought after market, which provides attractive relative value for investors,”
“Long Island City is a very attractive investment market,” said Ryan Colbert, Director of Investments at Madison Marquette. “The Center Building has an irreplaceable location…
Sure, these are typical of the superlatives usually found in press releases at the consummation of a deal, that can be fun to resurrect if the deal goes sour. But I think they also accurately reflect the momentum and change of mindset in the type of investors looking at LIC these days.
Am I reiterating the obvious and my oft told tale of the burgeoning Long Island City business and real estate markets? Ok, then I will stop boring you and pass on the following change in meeting time:
