Recently the mother of a two-year old wrote to ask me how she could get more involved in community affairs, especially vis-a-vis her child. Though I found it somewhat ironic that of all people she should be asking The Editor, I also let it go to my head. So where were we before we got so rudely interrupted? Oh yes, nowhere. The news situation in LIC remains static, which given current events and the adage “No news is good news,” is probably for the best.

And by break, I mean there really isn’t any. As in the news is taking a rest, siesta, maybe even a hiatus. Oh sure, I could write about something very mundane or stir up a trivial controversy, but I’ll happily leave that fodder for others who come in from outside the neighborhood and don’t have a handle on what really matters in LIC.
