New York’s got the ways and means; but just won’t let you be, oh no
No New Yorker would ever think of partying in Times Square. In the not-too-distant future, I think it will be fair to say that no New Yorker would actually want to live in Manhattan. It’s where the tourists live. For the last decade, Brooklyn has been the place to which NY’ers have decamped to in order to 1) get more for their money and 2) retain their hipness. Recently though, real estate prices in select parts of Brooklyn have eclipsed those in certain areas of Manhattan1. Moreover, being hip is overrated, especially after one changes their first dozen baby diapers.
