Dim Sum Palace is moving into the old Brooks Restaurant space at 24-28 Jackson Avenue in Court Square.
Dim Sum Palace is a local chain with eight restaurants all south of 59th Street in Manhattan. This looks to be their first restaurant outside of that borough. According to their website, they serve authentic Cantonese food, which includes dumplings of every possible combination, pork buns, spare ribs, lamb chops, garlic chicken, …oh just read it yourself, it’s pretty comprehensive, not to mention mouth-watering. As you would expect, the restaurants are typically large and intended to accommodate big groups. As for old man Brooks, aka Brooks 1890, which had supposedly been around since 1890, it looks like the bar and grill concept had run its course at that location. Time moves on.
//Moving on, but standing still sorta, the Spice location at 47-45 Vernon Boulevard that recently closed, has quickly re-opened as Saang Thai. A Thai for a Thai.
//‘Nice Yield’ is the name of LIC’s newest cannabis dispensary, this one licensed and located at 10-50 Jackson Ave. Because we need new places to buy edibles, vape pens, cartridges, hash, hash oils etc. Why walk over there when I can go right here?
