ECLIPSE’s, earthquakes, and the floods of the past week we don’t report on here at LICtalk. Food that’s another story, or make it three, which I would classify as weird, check the box, and ‘aha.’
In the weird category comes news of an Asian fried chicken and ramen joint, that uses hostesses in the Phillipines on screens in lieu of live check-out people. SanSan Chicken & Ramen, located one block north of the bridge, is where you’ll find these virtual hosts, no word as to whether the food is any good…
Not so weird: Jiang Nan has finally opened their branch in LIC after announcing it is coming exactly a year ago.
Finally, some elaboration on the ‘Why?’ behind the Butterfield Market coming to Dutch Kills. Apparently it’s part of a new 10k square foot kitchen space that Butterfield is in the midst of moving from Manhattan to LIC, and will have a 1k square foot retail market attached. Nice.
//The Selfish Giant, a play for kids, is coming to Culture Lab next Sunday, April 21. Tix are only $10 and the play lasts only an hour, like I said, it’s a play for kids.
