GET out your sleds kids, the NYC Department of Education (DOE) has declared tomorrow a Snow Day. Yes, Snow Day is capitalized according to Webster’s, as it is both a holiday and a holy day – at least as far as public and parochial schools go. Best of all, by calling it early, the DOE has given cover to everyone to sleep in and uhh …work from home. As for myself, it gives me more time to “work” on my brackets and run thru a dress rehearsal for St. Patty’s Day.
//LAST July we did some calculations and made the call that the townhouses being built on the south end of Murray Park we’re going to lead to the availability of “mucho 3-bedrooms coming to LIC.” Today we get confirmation that our math was correct with the news from the developer that:
“The 76 two- and three-bedroom duplexes will range from 1,900 to 2,300 square feet and rent for around $7,000 each, according to Ginsburg …The majority of the units are three-bedrooms, and most will have private outdoor space.”
While I’m happy that a developer has finally recognized the need for this niche, I’ve got some disappointing news for Ginsburg if he thinks he’s going to fill all those units at ~$7,000 a month: March Madness ends in 3 weeks.
