Serafina Restaurant Group has finally opened its Long Island City branch, marking the brand’s first NYC location outside of Manhattan. Situated at the very ‘top’ of Jackson Avenue, 28-40 Jackson Avenue to be exact, this restaurant has been highly anticipated for almost four years. The wait is now over.
Before we get to the food, let’s discuss the glamour and drama behind the chain. According to the press release, Vittorio Assaf is one of two co-owners. Originally from Milan, Vittorio moved to NYC in the mid-80’s and started opening up trendy eateries. More recent endeavors included making out with the scion of a rap-impresario 43 years his junior, and having his ex-model wife leave him for her twin-sisters husband. Oh Cielo!
Basta, basta, let’s get to the pasta. Cacio & Pepe, Lobster Ravioli, Tagliolini with Wagyu Bolognese Sauce, now we’re talking! Pizza – of course, it’s Serafina. Salad with that pie? Eight different choices. Entrees, desserts, and a full bar. Negroni mi per favore.
Will they have klieg lights at tonight’s grand opening? I do not know, but from this point forward Queens Plaza will have a little more euro-glitz.

I hope Serafina realizes that all those wine bottles they have in the windows are going to be ruined if they get exposed to sunlight. Unless they’re just decoration, but it doesn’t look like that’s the case.
