BUBBLE tea mania continued this weekend as throngs lined up for the grand opening of Teazzi Tea Shop in Court Square. Located in the Hayden residential tower at 43-25 Hunter St., it’s the third location for this franchise. Other than that I don’t know what to say about this phenomenon.
While we’re on the subject of culinary happenings, Xi’an Famous Foods reopened their Jackson Avenue location last week, 15 months after a fire destroyed it and only three years after it opened for the first time. The crowds are back in LIC!
//A huge development site in the middle of Hunters Point has gone into contract according to The Commercial Observer. Located at 2-33 50th Avenue and currently housing an innocuous 2-story no-window warehouse, the 1.75 acre plot sitting between the Citylights Building and Avalon South tower was put up for sale in mid-2019 and could go 40-stories high.

There is a very interesting comment buried in the article on Helen Uffner: “her landlord said she has to get out by September, so a developer can build LIC’s tallest residential high-rise.”
A high-rise taller than Skyline Tower is planned for that site? I can’t find any info on it. Wondering if you’ve heard anything.
