TALK about Topsy-turky, this Thanksgiving it’s the Lions you want to catch, and Da ‘Boys that you want to snooze through – even especially if the latter is playing a team from NJ.
Nevertheless we are still thankful in 2024. In addition to putting local pro football fans out of their misery in an expeditious manner this season, and giving us an excuse to take Uber’s to Manhattan over the weekend (the 7 train will be down), we have the tallest building in Queens. As we did last Thanksgiving and the one before, just in a different location. We’re still the reigning champ. In Queens.
And unlike four years ago, we can gather with friends. Gosh, where did those four years go?
The tree hawkers have arrived and Xmas lights are already strung along Vernon B, and before you know it we’ll be singing Auld Lang Syne and another quadrennial will have passed. But for now let’s live for today, bring on the turkey and the pigskin!
