Ship ahoy, Transmitter Brewing is setting sail for the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Begun in 2014 in a location under the Pulaski Bridge, the successful brewery requires a bigger location according to The New York Times. The timing of that move is in flux because believe it or not the craft beer business is snagged in the Federal shutdown. Anyway, though it’s always sad to lose a small business, take advantage of the government’s ineptitude by stopping by for a final bottle or three.
//LIC Education and Activity Open House this Saturday, January 12 from 1 – 5pm. Ballet, drama, and music – there are a lot of great programs for kids and an excellent lower-cost alternative school all housed in one building in Court Square. Click here for more info on their joint open house tomorrow.
Now Being Held Hostage by the Shutdown, Your Favorite Craft Brewery – oh man!
Tallest NYC Condo Outside Manhattan Goes to Market – 67-stories in LIC, and they upped the prices post-Amazon to garner (hopefully) a $1.8 bil sellout
Changing Queens: From D.A. Brown to Ocasio-Cortez – “Long Island City — which will soon house a headquarters for Amazon — was home to factories, including the Swingline staple factory, the Ronzoni pasta factory and the Scalamandré silk mill”
Under Construction: The Falchi Building – being renovated for the 2nd time since 2012
Chip NYC Opens at 42-15 Crescent Street – cookies in Queens Plaza, whodachunkit?
What a shame, we love Transmitter!
“it’s always sad to lose a small business”
that’s exactly what I was thinking as I read the news. Time to go and grab some beers 🙂
