The restaurant bounty keeps coming in 2014. Only a month after LICtalk published it’s industry-renowned annual LIC Restaurant Round-Up, we have news of two more previously unannounced restaurant openings. The first one is slated to be called Beans, Grapes, and Leaves; and will be located in Gantry Park Landing at 50-01 2nd Street. Hmm, probably not going to be another steakhouse.
The second one is currently entitled LIC Food & Spirits, and will be tucked away at 11-18 46th Road. The one thing they both have in common is they want to serve liquor. In order to do so, they will have to get approval from Community Board 2, and this time CB2 decided to take their show on the road, just like “Wheel of Fortune”, and hold a meeting open to all in Hunters Point. It will take place on Wednesday, March 19 at 6:30pm in the auditorium of the new high school on the water, located at 1-50 51st Avenue.
So if you attend the meeting, you will find out all about these two new restaurant and three others that have already been announced but have yet to open. Plus you will get to see the inside of the new high school. In addition, these liquor license meetings always bring out the best in attendees, as inevitably the teetotalers and drunks go at it with each other, making for great theater. Just remember to byob. Salud!
