GEE willikers, it’s that time of the year again. ManhattanHenge was scheduled to take place on May 28 & 29, but weather interruptus, and returns on July 11 & 12. Though each day is a succinct event, some believe the whole stretch between the two two-somes is a time for unbridled animal spirits. And while I don’t know what that term means exactly, I’d like to think there is nudity involved. With or without bare skin, it also spans the time of year when the days are at their longest. Get out there and enjoy!
//JUST in time for those long days, Exercise on the Waterfront brought to you by the Hunters Point Parks Conservancy resumes next week. Mondays at 7pm it’s Yoga, Tuesdays at 6:30pm is Outdoor Fitness, and Wednesdays at 6:30pm it’s everyone’s favorite: Zumba! See the calendar below.
//OneLIC continues its slog through the public opinion and community board reviews. The CBS news report below gives a pretty good look at the vocal opposition. I can’t help but think that they are the same squeaky wheels that scuttled Amazon HQ2. Similarly Julie Won has a fixation on a waterfront walkway and zero recognition about the tremendous opportunity OneLIC tees up for the Hunters Point Rec Center – possibly the very last opportunity for one at that. It would be a real travesty and indicative of what you get when your representation does not live in the community.
//LIC Springs is this Sunday, June 1 from 12-5pm on Vernon Boulevard in Hunters Point

Exercise on The Waterfront – full calendar
Permits Filed for 27-16 43rd Avenue in Long Island City, Queens – aka the Century Rubber Supply Store, they don’t make them like this any more
Julie lives in Court Square, so she’s right in the thick of this.
The problem with Julie Won is that she has the mental and emotional level of an angry 11 year old girl.
