NEWS about Amazon dominates the local media this week, but there’s not a lot of meat in the stories. At least we have the Super Bowl this weekend …oh wait, the Patriots are playing in it – are they not amazonish?
Well then how about some other local things to dwell on? First there was Comic CON, and coming this Spring there will be LIC CON! This will be a community convention to bring residents and businesses in LIC together, presented by the PS78Q PTA. From the press release “It’s a unique chance to engage local residents and introduce products, services, ideas and venues they can benefit from but may not previously have known about.” All proceeds benefit art, music, and education programs at PS78QBooth spaces are $100-150 and a dozen or so well known businesses have already signed up. So if you have a local product or service to sell this could be your opportunity. The event will be held on March 30 from 10am to 1pm at the Plaxall Gallery, attendance for residents is free. Click here to sign up for a booth.
