Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there
Back in my early teens I was a fireworks fanatic. Bottle rockets, cherry bombs, bricks of firecrackers, roman candles, etc. gave me great joy. It also made me and my compadres the scourge of the suburban street I grew up on, which was largely inhabited by retirees for some reason – whose fanaticism centered around gardening. So it is with great reluctance, mainly as a result of my unwillingness to concede to adulthood, that I write this post.
