TODAY is St. Patty’s Day, Purim, and the opening day of March Madness. Like Brigadoon this happens only once every hundred years, and since the NCAA Tournament has been in existence for less than a century this is the inaugural one. You were there!

WITH all that is going on in the world today we bring you the headline that a new gourmet market and deli called Luminescence will be opening up on 2nd St. just south of Borden Avenue in a new mega-tower along the waterfront. With a name like that I’d be hesitant to refer to it as a bodega, though these days they both probably sell more units of high alcohol beer in larger container sizes than the 12oz cans I used to swill back in the 20th Century.
