Chun Yang Tea is coming to 49-10 Vernon Boulevard in Long Island City, formerly the home of Something Sweet. Chun Yang is a bubble tea shop with four other locations in NYC, proliferating the explosion in Asian mini-chains across the city.
As for the McDonald’s Cafe that we previously wrote was going into the space, that story originated with the owner of 49-10. Why he started the rumor I do not know, maybe that’s the kind of joke one plays out of boredom when sitting around all day collecting rent on a building your ancestors purchased eons ago? Yet while McDonald’s Corp. is an investment grade credit, there might be a bubble in bubble tea, so it’ll be interesting to see who laughs last…
Chun Yang Tea – more bubble tea in LIC
Kids Reuse Fair At Culture Lab LIC – this Saturday, November 6 from 12pm – 4pm
Cyclist Critically Injured In LIC Hit And Run Last Thursday – at Queens Plaza
McDonald’s would be a bigger joke. You can’t drive or walk passed the stores on Vernon now. Just picture the triple parked cars & the people crowding around the small area McDonald’s needs a much bigger Space. NOT TINY STORE FRONT
As far as sitting around all day bored collecting rents from buildings your ancestors owned is a rude unacceptable remark when you know absolutely nothing about the neighborhood or the building. Stay out of the neighborhood is my advise
Chill out Pat. You don’t own the neighborhood either.
May not awn the neighborhood but do own a home built in 1911 & have lots of family & friends who own also. It is my neighborhood!! Always has been & always will be. Welcome to my neighborhood 😊
Couldn’t agree with you more, I wanted to say something similar to that but you said it better thank you for saying it to that individual. And by the way the person he was speaking of is one of my best friends . It’s his building and it was his families building before it’s his business alone nobody else’s . Again thank you for saying that
One of my dear friends also. The people who tsk are just jealous they don’t own property
I’m an owner as well but don’t offer advise to others to stay out of the neighborhood, seems counter productive to a degree. This website keeps us informed regularly and made a small joke about being misinformed about your space. There’s no need for that rhetoric, especially coming from an investor who has deep roots in the area. On a positive note, I’m pretty sure everyone is happy for you as an owner and we’re happy you work with local vendors to provide us all whatever services they offer. Thanks for your part in the community!
yes, chill out. Or at least respond in a humorous way.
Y’all need to lay off the writer. They are writing and making jokes! They made a shady guess. So what!! Everyone is so sensitive these days 🙄
Hey LICER….if you new the own you would be pissed off too! Also, freedom of speech works BOTH ways.
Also, please let us know how long you have lived here?
My neighborhood for 65 years
Way too many bubble tea stores opening in LIC. Would be nice to see more diversity in businesses.
