THE red trim at 46-18 Vernon Boulevard reveals that the new restaurant coming to this corner will be called Dai Hachi. A quick google search brings up a filing for the location entitled “Dai Hachi Sushi Corp” and a quick phone call confirms that it’s the same owner as the Dai Hachi just across the river in the east 50’s. In addition to sushi they serve the whole range of standard (in the U.S.) Japanese restaurant items, including noodles, tempura, and bento boxes. The reviews on Yelp are considerably more good than not-so-good and the prices seem reasonable. As for timing, a peek in the window looks more like a month+ than a month-, but nailing this always baffles me.1 I guess the only question yet to be answered is will they serve fugu?
