‘WHAT lurks behind the papered windows of the former Bierocracy space1 at 12-23 Jackson Avenue?’ has been a close second to ‘Will Trump run in 2024?’ as the question on everyone’s mind this summer in LIC. Now, LICtalk can reveal that the answer to this question is ‘Jungly.’ Leading to the question ‘What is Jungly?’
Utilizing my wizbop to navigate the Google interweb rocket, the first answer is “characterized by jungle or resembling a jungle” followed closely by “characteristic of jungle dance music.”
Of course we don’t accept simplistic answers here at LICtalk, so we engaged our gumshoes and also began hypothesizing. The latter made the connection ‘Is it the second coming of Rainforest Cafe?’
No it is not. So we dug deeper and discovered an ad looking for a head chef at the location, which gave the description of upscale casual bar/lounge serving American, Asian, Caribbean, Greek, Israeli, Southeast Asian, and Thai. Aka ‘Global.’ That’s all we got for now…
