The Pastor who co-founded the food drive LIC Relief has tested positive for COVID-19 according to an article about him in the Baptist Press.
Pastor Patrick Thompson was tested this past Monday and received the results yesterday. After suffering through 102 fever and a sore throat he appears to be on the mend and will be coming out of self-quarantine next Wednesday according to an email sent to me citing Facebook.
So the virus has hit home in LIC, and while this little anecdote is nothing like the throngs and deaths that have wreaked havoc on Elmhurst Hospital and Central Queens, it is a reminder to remain on guard. With that in mind, I highly recommend the video linked to below. It’s an articulate “How-to-keep-your-family-safe” guide produced on Monday by a Pulmonary-Critical Care doctor on the front lines at Weill Cornell.
