MY how time flies. It looks like it’s been three years since we last did our annual Long Island City Restaurant Round-Up. Given the boost in readership for this issue every year, you would think it would have been circled in red ink on the calendar ad infinitum. Alas, The Editor is not a very good Publisher. No Murdoch genes to speak of, but food we know, so here we go:

Unlike in years past, this is in no way a comprehensive list. Unfortunately there have been serious budget cutbacks in the newsroom since we last published a Round-Up, and I had to let my sole intern, Uncle Wimpy, go. Feel free to add any oversights in the comments section, isn’t that the way journalism works in 2025?
any idea when bb.q chicken in LIC will open?
You need a glossary for all the cryptic location terms.
Also on the RIP list are Juliette’s Pizza and Side Hustle Pub.
Evergreen market lic
M. Wells was the last tenant
Add Brooks to the list of closed. So, so sad.
Hello Editor,
Please remove or update your post on mercato LIC Pasta Pizza Vino taking the space of former Casa Lola on Vernon Blvd, since it has incorrect information in it. We understand that this is a rumors page also, but we want to make sure that there is no confusion around our new venture. mercato LIC Pasta Pizza Vino is the newest italian cuisine venture by Gino & Carlo, bringing their combined 50 years of restaurant experience to LIC neighborhood. It should not be confused or related at all with many other italian restaurants in the tri-state area with “Mercato” in their names, or more specifically Mercato Tratoria*Bar on the west side of Manhattan. Feel free to reach us at info@mercatolic.com for any questions. We’d love to meet you at mercato LIC Pasta Pizza Vino. Thanks, Gino
Westville is already open.
Considering the Court Square subway is right outside Gyu-kaku, I’d say that’s also Court Square area.
Quite a few tenants of Jacx & Co also closed.
