A ‘Lost Sock Alert’ was issued by the 108th Precinct in Long Island City yesterday. According to sources the incident occurred late Friday morning in the basement of 47-03 Vernon Boulevard.
‘There I was, on the folding table, 3 loads near completion, when it hit me like a wave that I was going to come up short’ explained the victim, Wilma Burnaker. She went on ‘typically my husband, Fred, goes through 2-3 pair a day at his construction job, so it’s a lot to keep track of, but I have an exemplary 14-year track record without an incident.’ And on she went.
There will be a press conference this afternoon where more information will be shared. In addition to 108th Precinct Captain Hameed Armani; local pols Julie Won, Mike Gianaris, and Claire Valdez will all be in attendance and speaking, while local news outlet will have a full team of reporters covering every angle of this breaking story.
