Beautiful weather, moderate temperatures and no wind, set the tone for a perfect return of the Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks to Long Island City. Groups started trickling in around 3pm and by six pm there was a steady stream which continued up until showtime, but never to an overwhelming extent. Everything went very smoothly, with all attendees entering the waterfront at 48th Avenue and Vernon Blvd. The barges arrived around 7pm, with the northern most directly across from the Gantries. After the show, there was a slight wait to exit, but Gantry Plaza was completely cleared within a half hour of the finish. All in all a spectacular event.
