Views, Water, Time: The Luxury Of LIC Real Estate

LONG Island City is undergoing a major transition, as it recovers from Mardi Gras and prepares for St. Patty’s Day. A week in the change hasn’t been too onerous on me, as I’ve given up broccoli for lent. Plus the days are getting longer and the weather is moderating as it usually does in winter’s finale. So please no coronavirus blah blah blah.

Making life even sweeter in LIC, is a real estate article in The Wall Street Journal affirming why this neighborhood is the best to live in in the 21st century:

MG: What does luxury mean to you?
MH: It’s time. It’s not about the physical space but about spending time there. It’s the things that give you back time.

Uh-huh, we completely agree.

MG: Where are the best luxury homes in the world and why?
MH: Places with water views are the best wherever you are—whether that’s the coast of Sydney or the tip of Manhattan.

Oh yeah, we’ve been writing for years about real estate values being stupendously enhanced by spectacular water views. The only thing the interviewee missed was living right on a beautiful park, and lo and behold LIC has the magic troika.
