A new congestion pricing plan that’s gaining traction calls for an $8 toll both ways for the Queensboro Bridge. If it makes you feel any better, for most in LIC it’ll only be $5.44 because we’ll be using an EZ Pass.  I’m putting the odds on this coming into effect at 66%, but the odds on there being a local press conference and photo opp for pols announcing it at 0%.

The Queens Courier writes somewhat emphatically that the city will be building another ferry stop called ‘Long Island City – North.’  They don’t expect it will be completed until 2017 and speculate the location being somewhere near 47th Rd and Center Blvd.

A toll on the Queensboro Bridge might be the straw that breaks this camel’s back in terms of living in LIC.

  2. al says:

Take the train or bus. As drivers stop toll shopping, it would reduce traffic in LIC.
