I have a really, really, really, really big scoop. Are you sitting down? Ok here it is.
Ample Hills Creamery is coming to 5-36 50th Avenue in the Hunters Point section of Long Island City! What, you knew that already? Oh yeah it’s in the headline, duhh. Anyway, Ample Hills was founded in Park Slope about a decade ago, had a quick brush with fame early on via Oprah and a store in Disney World, blew up and went through a corporate restructuring, and now has a dozen outlets throughout NYC and is slowly expanding.
More importantly, its ice cream is really, really, really, really good and includes flavors such as ‘Corn to Run,’ ‘Night at The Moo-seum’ and ‘I Want To Dance With Some Berry.’ Though summer will probably be over by the time the LIC store opens, it at least gives us something to look forward to now that summer is almost over.

September 2, 2022 at 10:25 amThere have been a number of them over the years. Unfortunately none have been able to survive. We had Hershey ice cream when Slice was a chicken place. Malu on Jackson, Something sweet, four winters (for 4 seconds) Manducatis on vernon has gelato and we have Mango Mango too. I’m sure ia forgot some?
