
THE fat lady has sung: Belle Via, the beloved Long Island City coal fired pizza restaurant on the corner of Vernon Boulevard and 48th Avenue has closed for good. There is a “For Rent” sign on the front and all the outdoor sheds have been removed.
We wrote about the sudden shuttering and the history of Bella Via a month ago and wondered what was up – renovation, sale, closing? – now there is finality and the coal oven will burn no more.
