THE New York Times has declared Long Island City is now ‘Little Asia,’ or maybe it’s ‘Asiatown?’ Well they didn’t really declare it, but they might as well have given a prominent story they published this week noting the exploding Asian population in LIC.
You can read it if you want, but given the article’s strong focus on all the new Asian eateries that have popped up recently in the neighborhood it should come as no surprise to readers of LICtalk. Every third week it seems we break the story of a new Asian food-related business opening locally, and have noted the regional trend in cuisine. You could say we pointed the way!
