Black Star Bakery of Williamsburg will be opening a second location in the former space occupied by ‘Beans, Grapes, & Leaves’ on 50th Avenue between 5th and 2nd Streets (near Urban Market). A quick call to the current location elicited a hoped for August opening and expectations of a similar menu. The latter currently comprises hot and cold coffee drinks, , breakfast specials like sriracha egg n cheese, sandwiches, croissants, and doughnuts by DOUGH. Allow me to broach the fourth wall and share my preference for cafes that spell donuts ‘doughnuts.’
