You know what the best part of not working for the New York Times is? The ability to cut and paste ad nauseam. So for this update I am going to take full advantage of this opportunity, as I have received numerous updates on all the happenings going on about town. First of all, let me inform you that tonight’s lighting ceremony actually has events that start before 6pm, so here is cut n paste #1 with a full run-down:
MONDAY, December 3
Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer has organized a celebration at LIC Bar 5-7pm. We will celebrate the extension of holiday lights down Vernon Boulevard and are thrilled to help support LIC Bar that just recently re-opened after severe devastation from Sandy. LIC Bar and neighboring City Vet were severely flooded. The attached flyer only mentions the lighting – here’s some of what’s planned for Monday! There will be free cocoa & treats AND story time in the carriage house at 5pm in LIC Bar’s carriage house around back. There will be carols and some holiday cheer from the Council Member and some fabulous special guests! We will end the festivities with the Hempel/Trapchak/Coleman trio performing excerpts from Vince Gualardi’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”
