The Center Boulevard alarm-clock has arrived

There’s a destination a little up the road
From the habitations and the towns we know
A place we saw the lights turn low
The jig-saw jazz and the get-fresh flow

“Year’s of federal and state disinvestment have led to deteriorating buildings, depriving tenants of the level of housing they deserve,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio.

“I want to thank Mayor de Blasio for making the great investment in improving the roofs in Queensbridge Houses,” said Assembly Member Catherine Nolan.

Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer added, “This is a welcome announcement to the residents of the Queensbridge Houses who have waited many years for the completion of these critical repairs.”

I couldn’t help but feel ~~saddened~~ frustrated regarding my idea to raze Queensbridge, when I read that the city is throwing $100 million into attacking the mold problem at our public housing projects. NEW BIKE PATH COMING TO LIC, AS FOR SCHOOLS…

It's the bottom of the 9th — Wow, it’s already the bottom of the 9th for the middle school

LIC is getting a new bikeway thanks to it’s winning an allocation of $500,000 from the participatory budgeting process. Didn’t know this was such a great need, but maybe you can discern more from the blurb advocating it on the ballot:

Long Island City Bikeway – elements of a bike path exist already, an improved safe and reliable bike way system would increase the level of bike use, reduce cars using path for parking and enhance the neighborhood.
