THE Super Bowl is a major celebration and extravaganza for most people, but for some it’s more like a funeral. The season is over and they are suddenly bereft of NFL action for six whole months of Sundays. Talk about withdrawal, there’s some serious cold-turkey with nothing but meaningless regular season NHL/NBA games and zero of substance sports-wise (=life-wise?) until March Madness begins six weeks later. No gridiron methadone for addicts come mid-winter.

So this is Christmas
And what have you done?
Another year over
And a new one just begun

WELL LIC, we’ve come to the end. And it’s not really all that different than the way we began. In Long Island City anyway.

FROM heat wave to a chill in the morning in two weeks, but oh so nice. And the 7-train platforms are crowded, never thought I’d say that that’s nice too. World leaders across the river and the gridlock that comes with it, we’ll take it. NYC is back, and September is the nicest month.
