IN tracing the footsteps of my forebears down south, such as William Faulkner and Tennessee Williams, I could not help but take note that there are a lot of roadside fireworks stands in every state below the Mason Dixon line. More Beer, Lusskin Leaving, Hero a Zero?
AFTER 8.5 years, Liz Lusskin is stepping down as head of the Long Island City Partnership. Her departure comes at the end of a period where LIC evolved from its emergence as an up-and-coming neighborhood to fully established on the national scene. A lot of this may have to do with Amazon HQ2, which she had a major role behind the scenes in attracting. Yet even without it’s coming, LIC is no longer a backwater from a commercial standpoint.1

MOTHER Nature LICtalk has declared that Spring Has Sprung in 2022 here in Long Island City. We are also happy to declare that the Gantry Plaza Easter Egg Hunt is back on for 2022. No, we don’t really make these proclamations, no more so than The Wizard of Oz could assist Dorothy in getting back to Kansas.
