That fried chicken sandwich you see in the picture was cooked by Chef Jimmy Thomas. It uses the same chicken recipe that has been passed down from his family for years while adding his own gourmet spin: an aged pineapple mango hot sauce and aioli made from scratch.

Yumpling to Open on Vernon Boulevard in Long Island City
TWO months ago I stepped out of my office in midtown shortly before noon to find a long line snaking along the sidewalk at the head of which was a bright red food truck. I asked the last person in line what’s so exciting about this food truck and the only thing I remember of her response was that it would all be sold out in an hour. I then ditched my salad inkling and became the last person in line. When my turn came I opted for the namesake and ordered the 8-piece regular pan-fried dumplings and took them into Bryant Park. Best meal I ate all month, just wish I’d had a cold one to wash it down with.
