Mayor Bloomberg spent his last and final Christmas as mayor in LIC! He had breakfast at the fire station on 47th Avenue, then met with the officers of the 108th Precinct on 50th Avenue, along with Police Commissioner Ray Kelly. Now many of you might be asking “Where else but LIC would he spend Christmas?” To that I have the good fortune to share with you, that it’s normally with myself and a number of other big honchos at his place in Bermuda(for me that’s the “Where else…” question). Oh, we start off the day unwrapping our million dollar bricks, followed by 18 holes, a clambake by the ocean with a few bottles of Peter Michaels, massages, a light snooze, and culminating in a roast beast feast replete with Dom Perignon, Romanee Conti, and Cohibas. This year in his absence, he was kind enough to just give us the keys to the place(and his jet) for me and my nearest and dearest dozen or so friends(including the LICtalk photographer, thus no pic today). Fear not, for we upheld all the aforementioned Xmas traditions. Oh, but you got the Mayor himself.

Mayor Makes Big Public School Education Speech In Queens – along w/ the School Chancellor Dennis Walcott, the Mayor states ““Forty-eight percent of Queens residents are born outside the country,” Bloomberg said. “This is the melting pot of the world. If you want to succeed in the global economy, the place to learn about the world is right here in Queens.” and also added that Queens led all boroughs with 63 new school buildings out of the 81 new schools that opened during his three terms in office.
