I CANNOT BE EMPHATIC ENOUGH, for those who qualify the affordable housing lottery at 52-03 Center Boulevard is the best real estate deal in LIC NYC! If you need further proof take a look at an article in this weekend’s New York Times titled “Exploring Affordable Housing Options In Brooklyn & Queens. Which Home Would You Choose?” In it a couple from Brooklyn explore three affordable options and then have a bake-off. Which option did they choose?
BAKE Culture has opened their latest location at 47-05 Center Boulevard in Long Island City. This is the fifth store for the Taiwanese bakery, with others located in Chinatown and Flushing. Offerings are a mix of sweet and savory items in both Asian and American styles.

THE crowds in Gantry Park have dissipated and tomorrow’s the day the porta-potties have to go back to the porta-potty man. Which makes your morning commute/workday a cakewalk, even if your starched blouse/shirt is a little moist upon arrival. I think I spotted Jamie Dimon in the window of a seaplane landing on the East River around 8am, but it could have been James Gorman. Either way you’re expected back in the office, which means it’s time for me to start pontificating about (local) current events in a manner befitting a (minimum) wage worker.

IT’S been three years since the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks “officially” took place in Long Island City, which in LIC years is about a decade.
