Oh sure, instead of the headline above I could have written one about the Long Island City teacher that slept with a student. Of course it was actually a Long Island City High School teacher, making it considerably less relevant to local readership, but no less alluring. I left that to the Post, as in The New York Post, which then screen-grabbed colorful pics of the alleged perp. Other Posts papers jumped all over the story, why not given the subject matter – you know you want to look – and tacked additional screenshots to their coverage, without mention of The New York Post breaking the story. You’d almost think they went undercover? Nahh, they just regurgitated some official report, which they probably decided to find post the New York Post’s reporting it. Just like they regurgitate many innocuous press releases when the news is slow. Like now. Which is as exciting (and informative) as Thanksgiving leftovers on Sunday.
