ACCORDING to a large yellow sticker on the front door of The Green Street the property has been seized for non-payment of taxes. The all-natural Korean Bbq restaurant located on 47th Road between Vernon and 11th Street has only been open for about a year and a half.
In other restaurant news, The Sandwich King is looking to open in the next ten days or so. Also work on La Adelita, a Mexican restaurant going into the former RePubLIC space on 50th Avenue just east of Vernon, seems to be rolling along as its exterior just received a paint job in the colors of the Mexican flag.
//IN the “it must be May” category, the NY Mets have squandered a 12-2 first place start in April to being one game away from .500 and in fourth place. Nevertheless the team’s impact on Queens is considerably greater than its W/L record as the basic rule for 7-train weekend shutdowns this summer is if they are in town on a given weekend its open, and if they’re not it’s closed. Fwiw – the Mets are not in town this weekend.
