JUST like we did last year and every year prior, today we declare that Spring has sprung for Long Island City. Plus we added some cherry blossoms, which are in full bloom both here and on Cherry Blossom Island midway across the river (Roosevelt Island). Due to massive overcrowding the latter has discontinued it’s Cherry Blossom Festival, but this weekend would be a good one timing-wise to check out the flora there.[Read more…] about Dear Cherry Blossoms, Spring Has Sprung 2023!

MOTHER Nature LICtalk has declared that Spring Has Sprung in 2022 here in Long Island City. We are also happy to declare that the Gantry Plaza Easter Egg Hunt is back on for 2022. No, we don’t really make these proclamations, no more so than The Wizard of Oz could assist Dorothy in getting back to Kansas.
AS everyone knows Christmas falls on December 25, St. Patty’s on March 17, and Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November, but Easter is ever so elusive. Sure I know it’s on a Sunday, but that can land anytime from late March until almost the end of April. But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round

Nothing wrong with that! Moreover as the beer swilling continues it helps to grease the wheels of an egg hunt of sorts for adults. Capisce?
//I don’t know what’s more highly anticipated, the Annual Trinity Grace Church Queens Easter Egg Hunt in Gantry Park, or the registration for it? Either way, [Read more…] about EGGS AND FLEAS AND RENTALS AND FLEES
I am the eggman (Ooh)
They are the eggmen (Ooh)
I am the walrus
Goo goo g’ joob
Sex may sell, but there’s nothing more highly anticipated in Long Island City than the annual Easter Egg Hunt. The local lust for this event is unrivaled, outside of the comprehensive coverage of it by LICtalk. It’s stories like this that make the $90K in student debt I still retain to get my Masters in Journalism from Northwestern so worth it. [Read more…] about EGGS IN LIC 2017
