Former LIC resident Anthony Lynn has been named the new head coach of the NFL’s Chargers. Though it’s been downsized from 80+ stories ((at 984 feet, it’s the equivalent of 80+ @ 11ft stories, even inclusive of tall amenity floors)) to 66 stories, the announcement today that “Court Square City View Tower” ((Wow that’s a mouthful)) will be condos, as first reported on 6SqFt.com, is the culmination of Long Island City’s change.

JESSICA LANG STUDIO A NO-GO, CRABHOUSE TIP

THIS news is about two months old for any parent who signed up for a class, as for the rest of us it’s brand new: the Jessica Lang Dance Center that was supposed to open in LIC earlier this year, has been scrapped for it’s original location. Per a note sent to parents on November 4:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have withdrawn our plans to locate at 5-39 46 th Avenue. We remain committed to our mission of opening the Jessica Lang Dance Center in Long Island City and hope to announce plans for an alternative site in the future”
Looks like all the hopeful ballerina’s, fly-girls, and other hoofers will have to find a new avocation …or location in 2017.

The subways are a little less packed this week and my head’s a little bit foggier than usual, two signs that Christmas is near. While there are so many things we’d like to see in the neighborhood, most of them are out of our control and simply a function of capitalism weaving its way.
